The launch ceremony of the " The 1st China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2019 China-Russia Innovation and Cooperation Week " jointly initiated by Moscow State University Science Park and Beijing International Exchange Association of China was held at the National Conference Center in Beijing on September 18, 2018.
The purpose of the competition is to provide an international exchange platform for Russian start-ups find financing channels, joint research and development partners in China as well as provide landing projects for science and technology parks in China.
Attended the launching ceremony of the Russian representative, Vasily Petrechenko, Deputy CEO of MSU Science Park, has said in an interview with satellite news agency, "partnership with China in the next year we organize Russia roadshow for technology companies to come to China, China's technology market potential is tremendous, there are a lot of opportunities."
He points out that "Russia has many excellent engineering schools and a strong competitive advantage in many fields such as global mathematics, science and programming. Many of the products developed by Russian technology companies are in high demanding in Europe, the United States and even China. We believe that establishing cooperation with Chinese enterprises and Chinese market are mutually beneficial and win-win. We hope to build a platform through this competition and establish more Sino-Russian joint ventures in science and technology, attract more investment, and promote mutual exchanges of scientific and technological personnel.
The Deputy Secretary General of Beijing International Exchange Association of China, Dr. Jieni Guo stressed, " the main purpose of the contest is to further strengthen both science and technology and its cultural exchanges between China and Russia through the linkage of start-ups in Russia and capitals in China.”
The 1st China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2019 China-Russia Innovation and Cooperation Week will be geared to the needs of intelligent manufacturing, Biomedical and Biotech, New Energy and Materials, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection, collecting 200 projects in preliminary stage, and selected 40 in Field Final and a total of 24 items into the Final, who will be invited to join the roadshow tours in China and the opportunity to compete for the final crown in 2019. The total prize bonus will be $24,400 to award their creativity in science and technology.
The first World Conference on Science Literacy opened in Beijing on sept 17, with the theme of "scientific literacy and a community with a shared future for mankind". More than 1,000 delegates from 38 countries, 23 international science and technology organizations and relevant parties from home and abroad attended the conference. The launching ceremony of the 1st China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2019 China-Russia Innovation and Cooperation Week is an activity within the conference.
