With the severe epidemic situation of COVID-19 globally, as a leading NGO for international exchanges, Beijing International Exchange Association of China (BIEA) is playing an active role in the global battle against the coronavirus pandemic. In recent days, BIEA donated 2000 surgical masks to Thailand and Malaysia separately to help the two countries weather the storm.
On April 7th, Mrs. AN Liange (Secretary-General) and Dr. GUO Jieni (Deputy Secretary-General & Head of International Cooperation Department of BIEA) behalf of BIEA donated the medical supplies through the Embassy of Thailand in Beijing. Dr. Pasupha Chinvarasopak (Minister Counsellor for S&T of the Embassy of Thailand in China), accepted the medical supplies on behalf of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand (MHESI), and showed sincere appreciations for the support of BIEA, which has greatly strengthened the belief in fighting the pandemic together. These medical supplies will be transferred to local hospitals in Thailand through MHESI.

On the same day, BIEA’s medical supplies arrived Kuala Lumper. Mr. Mohd Ashraf Bin Abdul Malik received the supplies on behalf of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia (MOSTI). MOSTI sent a letter of appreciation to BIEA 2 days later.

“The current global outbreak is severe. As a friendly neighbor, the outbreaks in Thailand and Malaysia have also touched the hearts of Chinese people. BIEA is willing to try the best to support people in Thailand and Malaysia. And we believe that China, Thailand and Malaysia will help each other to overcome the difficulties in weathering this pandemic. We are all looking forward to the victory against the pandemic.” Mrs. AN Liange said.
